1 day Alcudia itinerary – The PERFECT way to spend a day in Alcudia

If you are planning a trip to Mallorca then you will more than likely spend at least 1 day in Alcudia during your visit.

We used Alcudia for our based when we visited last year and it actually caught us by surprise in some ways. While we were expecting a coastal beach town with access to a nice beach it actually offers more than that.

Alcudia has one of Mallorca’s best Old Towns, two great beaches that are perfect for all ages and is only a short drive from one of Mallorca’s most incredible sunset viewpoints at Cap Formentor.

With that, there is plenty of things that you can pack into a day in Alcudia and we wanted to share just some of our favourite ways to spend a day here, as well as some great food spots to check out along the way.

Where to stay in Alcudia – at a glance

Where you choose to stay in Alcudia will largely come down to the type of trip you would like to have and budget.

Alcudia is a great destination for family oriented trips, as well as luxury getaways so your hotel choice will largely come down to your reasons for visiting.

• Best luxury hotel – Grupotel Parc Natural & Spa is definitely the stand out luxury hotel in Alcudia. This 5* hotel is set right on the S’Albufera Nature Reserve; just a few minutes away from Playa Muro and has every facility you can think of for a memorable luxury stay in Alcudia.
• Best Family Friendly Hotel – Our favourite family friendly hotel in Alcudia is definitely the Iberostar Selection Albufera Park All Inclusive. This hotel is set right on Playa Muro beach, which is one of our favourite beaches on the island. This beach is perfect for families in particular as the water stays shallow for several metres making it quite safe.
• Best Budget Friendly Hotel – Our favourite budget friendly option in Alcudia is the Alcudia Garden Aparthotel. You can get a double room at this hotel for as little as €50 (2026 prices) per night which is incredible value. The hotel has really positive guest reviews and is less than 100m from Alcudia beach so you can walk straight out of the hotel and on to a sun lounger for the day.

Morning – Port d’Alcudia

Our favourite way to spend a day in Alcudia was to have a nice blend of the beach and the Old Town.

You can alter the order of this itinerary depending on which area you end up staying in but our recommendation would be to start off down by the Port where possible.

This is a beautiful area for a relaxed morning walk before the area comes to life. There are no specific activities we would recommend doing in the Port area as it is mainly bars/restaurants and shops etc.

That being said, starting your morning off with a coffee in hand (other drinks are available) walking along the beach here is a great way to start your day.

One of our favourite breakfast/brunch spots sits along the Port d’Alcudia, called Ca Na Marce. This cafe is beautifully styled and sits right along the shorefront so it’s a great place to start the day at a relaxed pace.

They have an extensive menu on offer here but their main speciality is their range of pancakes and they also do a great iced coffee, a lifesaver for a coffee lover on a hot day in Mallorca.

Equally you could easily alternate this guide to visit the Port in the evening time as that is where the majority of the best restaurants in Alcudia can be found and there tends to be a good atmosphere around the Port during the evening.

Afternoon – Playa Muro

Fo your afternoon, your going to make your way to one of Mallorca’s best beaches, Playa Muro.

To get there from the Port area, you can take the 302 Can Picafort bus from multiple stops along the Port, which will get you there in under 10-15 minutes. The buses accept contactless payment on board.

Playa Muro is possibly the best beach in Mallorca for families in particular. The water depth here stays shallow for several metres from the shore and any time we visited this beach the water was extremely calm, with virtually no waves.

This is easily one of the most beautiful beaches along this coastline, with almost white sand, that renowned turquoise water and beautiful sun loungers with straw umbrellas lining the beach.

You can also do water activities here but as we had our young children with us, we didn’t get an opportunity to try any of those out.

While you are here, we would recommend stopping off for lunch at NuMallorca. This is probably the best beach club in this area and they also have a great food menu for something light at lunch time.

We regularly went there just to get some nachos and to have somewhere nice to sit and enjoy the view of the beautiful beach while our son had his nap.

Speaking of which, this would be the perfect point in the day to go and rest for a little while before getting ready for dinner in the Old Town.

Evening – Alcudia Old Town

As much as we enjoy beaches and lying around by the water when we get the opportunity, our favourite places to go on holiday almost always centre around an Old Town.

We love anywhere with a cobbled street, old style architecture with a shuttered window and a nice central square to sit out for dinner in the vending and enjoy the view.

There are very few better places to do that in Mallorca than in Alcudia Old Town. While a lot of the attention around this kind of scene goes to places like Valdemossa and Deia, which are both great too, we think Alcudia Old Town is somewhat overlooked.

One thing we would say is that if you are here on a Tuesday or Saturday, those are the market days in the Old Town so we would swap the morning and evening portions of this guide around to allow you to enjoy that as well.

The Old Town is fairly small but has all the characteristics we look for to get that old school charm. Take some time to wander around the area before settling on a choice for dinner.

Our favourite restaurant here was Basico Steakhouse, mainly for its outdoor terrace, which is a beautiful setting for a meal. Out here the chef cooks your steak right in front of you on the barbecue pit so you will be more than ready for it by the time it arrives at your table.
